I’m not sure why all these clock radios and alarm-clock-type devices always seem to catch my eye, considering I don’t use an alarm because I enjoy sleeping in. But they do.

The Sony ICF-C180 Clock Radio is a nice looking cube that will probably look decent enough in most bedrooms. It has, of course, the requisite alarm clock, and comes with a lithium battery to act as backup so you don’t have to worry about missing that important meeting if there’s a power failure.

(We get a lot of those around here.)

There’s also a large LCD display, which can, fortunately, be dimmed. I’ve slept in rooms with displays that can keep you up all night – you’d swear they were bright enough to read by.
