Now here’s an interesting coffee gadget. The Eva Café Solo is about as simple a gadget as you can get but the idea behind it is pretty cool. This glass flask with insulated Neoprene cover allows you to make coffee the good old fashioned way. You simply grind fresh coffee beans, place them into the glass container and pour boiling water into the container. Stir, let brew and insert the funnel filter. When you pour the filter catches the coffee grinds and you get coffee the way nature intended it.

You can get this at Amazon.com

I can see this being perfect for making one or two gourmet cups of coffee at a time. Once you get the measurements down I bet there’s much less waste of your gourmet beans this way. I find myself wondering if the coffee tastes much better this way. After all, they say just about every other food tastes best the less you process it—is coffee the same way? I’ve always wanted to try coffee out of a French press and I think the idea behind the Eva Café Solo is very similar. If you like your coffee as natural as possible this could be the gadget for you. Has anyone tried this type of coffee or coffee from a French press? If so leave your comments and let us know—was it better than the coffee that comes out of a coffee maker?

“Experience the original taste of coffee, simply coffee beans and water. Spoon ground coffee beans into the glass flask and add boiling water. Stir for 10 seconds and place the drip-free filter funnel and the tip-up lid in the flask which automatically opens when you pour. Wait 4 minutes and pour. The coffee-maker comes with a black neoprene cover and a stirrer. Also available in a smaller size. Made by Eva Solo, Denmark.”
