If this had been flashed before me on Who Wants to be a Millionaire I would have probably used up all my lifelines trying to guess what it was. Perhaps that’s the point. Why settle for gadgets that look ordinary when you can make an every day item extraordinary thanks to brilliant design. It works just like any other kettle complete with whistle to alert you when the water is boiling.
“With meticulous attention to the intricacies of the shape and materials used to make the original, Alessi has reproduced in miniature form the “Pito” Kettle as designed by Frank Gehry. The Pito Kettle is only piece designed by the great Californian architect who, with a ground-breaking formal language and outstanding sculptural talent, has created some of the most extraordinary and fundamental works of architecture of our age. Designed in 1992, The Pito Kettle still captivates many with its smooth stainless steel mirror polished finish. The kettle also features a melodic whistle and handle which adds a touch of whimsy.”
