I think things like this are wonderful learning tools for kids. Children are mostly visual learners and the world is a big place to image. By giving them a visual reference to places you’ve been or they’ve traveled to it puts it all in perspective for them while teaching them geography in a sneaky “I’m not trying to educate you” kind of way. We have a foam puzzle mat of the world and our girls have used it to see where Daddy has traveled for work and places they’ve been themselves. It works wonderful and they’re pretty darn good at geography too.
