Brinno PeepHole Viewer

Okay, I admit – the PeepHole Viewer has a rather funny name, but I like the idea. It’s like having a webcam installed right outside your door.

Looks to me like a quick and easy way to tell if it’s someone trying to sell you something (in which case, I recommend tiptoeing slowly away from the door as noiselessly as possible, and holding your breath until you can hear the crunch of the footsteps leading back down your walkway toward the sidewalk.)

The Brinno PeepHole Viewer uses an LCD panel to display who is at your door without alerting them to your presence. The PeepHole Viewer turns a hard to see peep hole image into a big bright image. Simply push the button to see a large image of the person outside your door. The image is easy to see for people of any height and is similar to that on the display of a digital camera.

Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker

Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker

“Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful …”

Yes, yes, I know. I’m out of tune. It’s a good thing this isn’t a podcast, right?

I am so eyeing this Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker & Milk Frother – I could be sitting snuggled in the armchair, iPod in hand, watching all that cold, glistening frost settling outside.

Or I could head over to the kitchen, rip open a pack of instant hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course) and pretend …

Bialetti’s Hot Chocolate Maker produces incredibly rich and creamy cups of hot chocolate with very little effort. For an easy warm treat, simply fill the clear upper chamber with milk and shaved chocolate, cocoa, or powder and watch as the mixture is heated, blended and frothed to a delectable perfection. The Hot Chocolate Maker can also be used to heat and froth milk for lattes, cappuccinos and chai teas. And thanks to the versatile blending system with a ‘Cool Mixing’ function, the machine can also prepare refreshing iced coffess for shakes.

Zen Table Lamp

 Zen Table Lamp

This Zen Table Lamp is a thing of beauty. A bit pricy for my pocket book but maybe one day (and no, I’m definitely not enough of a DIY-er to feel comfortable putting together something like this myself!).

A 3d asterisk-shaped table lamp made from stained MDF and japanese rice paper. Multiple designs feature on the 30 seperate faces of the lamp, yet the design on each face connects seamlessly with its adjoining sides. The finished piece stands at around 34cm in height.

Pop Quiz Math Clock

image

A Pop Quiz Math clock! Don’t look at me – I don’t have a clue what any of these math equations mean (are they even equations?). But it’s a pretty awesome clock, if you want my opinion.

We’re going to be late, it’s almost half past pi!"

If I had a quarter for every time I heard that. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, my friend you are in desperate need of the Pop Quiz Clock. It will help you study up on the most rudimentary of advanced mathematics. Know a math or science teacher? Well now you have the perfect gift for their classroom. Know just an everyday geek? Well now you have something they can put between their Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica posters.

Magnolia Bicycle Bell

 image

This rather elegant magnolia bicycle bell has me wishing I was back in my bike-riding student days. Words like charming and retro come to mind.

It’s below zero outside or I might just be tempted to go for a bike ride.

During our daily commute in the streets of New York City, we enjoy the dulcet tones of blaring car horns, screaming cab drivers and the ubiquitous "outta my way!". We opt instead to arm ourselves with these chic bicycle bells from France (where else?) which lift us politely above the fray. Now when someone steps into our path, we simply let fly a brisk "brring-brring!", and the pedestrian waters part like the Red Sea.
